At our Martinsville, VA plants, you can find our team members hard at work producing your favorite jerky, meat sticks, pickled protein snacks and portable snacks! About the job The Production Supervisor will provide direct supervision to hourly employees in the manufacturing of food products; ensure the safe operations of daily activities while meeting established production schedules. Effectively communicate production goals and objectives to achieve results; and maintain a high standard of product quality while maximizing plant efficiencies in support of continuous improvement. Responsibilities Reports directly to the Operations Manager. If required, performs duties of the Shift Superintendent in his/her absence. Provides guidance and direction to their assigned hourly team members. Support employee relations in all aspects of interaction with employees including valuing differences, monitoring compliance with company policies and procedures, and ensuring all policies are administered consistently and equitably across all employees. Provide proper training for plant employees on HACCP/SSOP, GMP, equipment and plant safety requirements and job specific training to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Responsible for replacement employee job training, workstation assignments/rotations including back up for absent employees and overtime assignment. Perform essential recordkeeping and timekeeping functions for department personnel using Paycom system. Monitor employee attendance and absenteeism, holding employees accountable as necessary. Manage yield and ensure timely and accurate transactions on Production Batch Orders. Responsible for inventory. Build awareness with all employees around our customers to elevate understanding around who they are why they matter. Coordinate production startups, changeovers and sanitation. Establish levels including turnover and needs relating to product volumes. Schedule and conduct shift meetings to review safety concerns and performance along with plant performance compared to expectations. Assist other operations as needed and as directed, this may include assistance with scheduling, sanitation, and production departments. Individual will be accountable for the following: Compliance of Programs. Production quantity and quality results. Maintaining communication proven when it is relied upon most- during critical points in a process. Results of Quality Audits. Reducing of Quality Audits. Reducing Customer complaints while increasing first pass quality. Other Duties as assigned. Qualifications Must be 18 years or older. Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, logistics, or related field highly preferred. Business experience can substitute for education. Minimum of 5 years supervisory and/or leadership experience. Experience in a food manufacturing environment desired but not mandatory. High-level leadership and decision-making skills. Ability to motivate, influence and train people. Able to interact with all professionals of Plant Management. Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.
