Operations Manager - Upstream Distribution Center - Suffolk, VA

Role Overview An Operations Manager in Target’s Distribution and Receive Centers leads teams to ensure rapid, safe, and efficient product movement to guests. This role drives safety, productivity, and continuous improvement across operations. Key Responsibilities Foster a “safety first” culture through awareness, training, and accountability. Engage and motivate the team to maximize productivity, growth, and development. Provide real‑time observation and constructive feedback to build a positive work environment. Execute operational plans, achieve performance and budget goals, and coordinate across functions. Innovate processes to improve efficiency and implement future process‑flow optimization. Identify root causes of problems and support a culture of calculated risk and testing. Ensure the team meets business goals and continuously improves operational performance. Qualifications Four‑year degree or equivalent experience. Demonstrated leadership ability, with a proven ability to engage and motivate others. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Strong reasoning, conflict‑management, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Physical ability to access all areas of the Distribution Center, including mezzanine platforms. Ability to read and interpret policies, procedures, and system programs used in the Distribution Center.
