As part of the Data Analytics and Reporting team, you will contribute to creating one of UBS’s most ambitious and critical technology projects. You will play an important role to understand the data platform needs from other crews, work with architects and peers to design and deploy cutting edge data platform components in the cloud.We’re looking for Data Platform Engineer to join us:• lead the software design of architectural roadmaps, database, data access and data technology architectures• provide expertise on the overall data eco-system’s engineering best practices, standards, architectural approaches and complex technical resolutions• work with engineering teams across the technology organization, deliver the strategy through clear leadership/direction, influence and integration with agile development processesExperience leading a senior team of principal engineers in developing and implementing industry data solutions• aware of on-going technology trends particularly around data lakes, AI/ML and know how to pragmatically leverage their benefits• someone who is technically excellent, inquisitive, and continually seeks to grow• have an "automated first" mindsetYour Career ComebackWe are open to applications from career returners. Find out more about our program on ubs.com/careercomeback.Your teamYou will be working as part of the Group Compliance Regulatory Governance Technology agile crew that focuses on Data Analytics and Reporting (GCRG DAR). Our crew is using the latest data platforms to further the group’s data strategy to realize the true potential of data as an asset through utilizing data lakes, data virtualization, for use with advanced analytics, AI/ML. The crew also ensure the data is managed with strategic sourcing and data quality tooling.The team will be responsible for building the central GCRG data lake, data virtualization, building connectivity for advanced analytics and other consumers built on cloud computing.Diversity helps us grow, together. It strengthens our business and brings value to our clients.Your expertise• experience leading a senior team of principal engineers in developing and implementing industry data solutions• knowledge and hands-on expertise in the following technologies: Delta Lake technologies, distributed technologies, ETL tool. Technologies like: Denodo, Azure Search, Kafka, (Azure or databricks knowledge is preferred )• experience building data intensive applications in Azure• knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitLab and on continuous integration and deployment pipelines experience working with ARM templates, Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps and working with large and complex code bases (Github, Gitflow, Fork/Pull Model) to deliver containerize solutions (Docker, Kubernetes) • knowledge of full data lifecycle – ingestion, curation, data access pattern preferred• data Mesh experience preferredAbout usUBS is the world’s largest and only truly global wealth manager.
