Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA)

The Resident Assistant/Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides quality care and assistance with activities of daily living to residents of the community. Responsibilities include reporting incidents involving residents, maintaining knowledge of all policies and procedures, assisting residents with activities of daily living, performing housekeeping duties, responding promptly to resident calls for assistance and emergency alerts, assisting in planning and conducting activity programs for residents, following confidentiality policies, assisting residents to and from the dining room and scheduled activities, conducting regular resident checks, checking on ill residents and reporting their status or concerns, communicating to report resident status, upcoming community information, resident appointments, admissions, and transfers, assisting new residents with the move-in transition, and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements include having a High School Diploma or GED, successfully completing an approved Personal Care Aide (PCA) program, effective communication skills, organizational skills, ability to work collaboratively, being a contributing member of the nursing team, politeness, respect, and consideration, ability to walk and stand for extended periods, ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push or carry up to 25 lbs., ability to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics, wearing the designated uniform during working hours, CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification within 60 days of hire, representing the community in a positive and professional manner, attending and completing all required in-services and staff meetings, and being willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
