Job Description: Paramedic - Assistant Supervisor (7468-604) at Central Carolina EMS. Responsibilities Performs administrative work in addition to the skilled technical work of rendering emergency care. Serves as the department’s Shift Supervisor in the absence of that person. Sets an example for employees in regards to attitude, work ethic, professionalism, and advocacy for the EMS department. Manages the Quality Management System for their respected shift to include audit and review of patient care documentation, recognition and correction of skill/knowledge deficiency noted through the CQI process and recording appropriate benchmarks. Data collection is an important responsibility of the position. Acts as the Field Training Officer / Preceptor for new employees documenting accurately any concerns about a candidate’s ability to perform their duties. Responsible for on shift training opportunities, skills review, and annual competencies. Works in direct relationship and contact with the Shift Supervisor and Quality Manager. Attends at least 80% staff meetings; supervisor meetings, as well as continuing education sessions, are mandatory. Completes assignments delegated by their Supervisor. Ensures crew members adhere and comply with CCALS policies. Qualifications Education High school graduate Required coursework in emergency medical techniques; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate’s Degree or graduation from a four-year college or university, preferable with a major in business administration, public administration, or other related field and three years experience; or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Experience Experience in emergency service work. Experience in Emergency Services training, education or related experience. Licensure, Certification or Other Qualifications Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic by the North Carolina Medical Board. National Registry of EMT Paramedics and Critical Care Paramedic certifications preferred. Instructor in ACLS, PALS, BCLS and BTLS or PHTLS. Possession of a valid driver’s license with solid history of safe driving issued by the state of North Carolina. Other Minimum Abilities / Aptitudes Considerable knowledge of emergency medical procedures & techniques. Ability to respond quickly and calmly to emergency situations. Working knowledge of procedures in extrication, movement of patients, rescue techniques, transportation and psychological needs of a patient. #J-18808-Ljbffr LifePoint Health
