Job Title: Emergency Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Active RN License required or eligible to obtain Certifications: BLS certification required, ACLS required Must-Have: Bachelor's degree preferred Description: The Registered Nurse is an essential member of the patient care team. They are responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process. The RN will be required to assess patients upon admission using appropriate interview techniques. They will obtain past medical history, current medical status, vital signs, lab work, x-rays, and other diagnostic tests. The RN will be involved in the planning and implementation of a written care plan under the direction of a Physician. Essential Job Functions: Assessment: Able to perform standard assessments using basic equipment. Medication Administration: Visual acuity is necessary. Hand-eye coordination is required. Communication/Documentation: Maintains confidentiality. Able to communicate verbally and in writing. Patient Safety: Able to meet standards of job analysis form. Interpersonal: Interact positively with team members and patients. Respect patients’ culture, lifestyle, religion, and age when planning or implementing care. Accept constructive criticism and channel emotional reactions in a positive manner. Qualifications: Graduate from an approved School of Nursing. Current RN license required or eligible to obtain. Clinical experience preferred. Membership in a professional nursing organization is encouraged. Certification in specialty preferred. Additional Information: Holiday coverage may be required.
