Product Design Engineer

You will serve as a pivotal Product Design Engineer for a major automotive manufacturer, applying deep technical expertise to lead challenging projects, mentor junior engineers, and influence team direction. This role requires strong organizational skills, cross-functional communication, and the ability to design and manage interior and finite components. Specific activities include, but may not be limited to:

• Lead and execute complex engineering projects, ensuring technical solutions meet performance, cost, and quality objectives.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing guidance and support to foster skill development and promote a culture of learning.
• Drive the integration of new technologies and methodologies into project phases to enhance product functionality and manufacturability.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, to ensure seamless project execution.
• Manage cross-functional communications regarding interior components and finite components, such as door handles and dash steering.
• Conduct in-depth technical reviews and analyses to optimize designs and improve system performance.
• Proactively identify potential project risks, devise mitigation strategies, and manage changes to keep project timelines and deliverables on track.
• Organize project information, listen actively, and clarify questions for accurate reporting and seamless project execution.

Your qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME degree is highly preferred) or a related field.
• 7 to 12 years of progressive engineering experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading engineering projects.
• Hands-on experience with Catia software.
• Proven background and practical experience in plastic part design.
• Self-starter mentality with a highly solutions-oriented approach.
• Strong team collaboration skills, with the ability to bring options and ideas to the table.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
