Position Overview

SCP Health, a physician-founded and physician-led organization, is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician (MD/DO) to join the Emergency Department at Hillsboro Area Hospital, a critical access hospital located in Hillsboro, Illinois.

This opportunity offers a low-to-moderate volume Emergency Department, 12- or 24-hour physician shifts, and the ability to practice broad-scope emergency medicine in a newly renovated, physician-friendly facility.

Clinical & Program Details

• Patient Volume: 6,000 ED visits annually
• Specialties: Emergency Medicine
• Coverage Model: Physician coverage with 12- or 24-hour shifts
• Facility Type: 25-bed Critical Access Hospital
• Acuity: Low to moderate
• EMR: CPSI
• ICU: Yes
• Procedures: Standard emergency medicine procedures
• Admissions/Transfers: Coordinated as appropriate
• Tele Coverage: Telemed at night

Qualifications

• Education: MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Licensure: Illinois medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Experience: Prior Emergency Department experience preferred
• Clinical Skills: Broad emergency medicine skill set appropriate for a critical access environment
• Badges: BLS, ACLS, PALS (or ability to obtain)

Hillsboro Area Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital offering emergency care, inpatient care, and transitional care, along with diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, physical therapy, sleep clinic, and surgical services. The facility provides 24-hour laboratory and x-ray services, as well as MRI capabilities, supporting comprehensive, high-quality patient care. The Emergency Department is housed in a newly built, environmentally friendly ("green") facility, designed to enhance efficiency, safety, and provider experience.
