Exciting Opportunity in Progressive Care Nursing!

Job Description:


- Location: Overland Park Regional
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit
- Shifts Available: 07:00-19:00
- Number of Beds: 18
- Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
- Staffing Support:
- 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- 1 Unit Secretary
- Equipment Utilized:
- Alaris Pumps
- Kangaroo Pumps
- Pyxis
- Computers in every room
- Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements:


- Self-scheduling with a total of 3 weekend shifts required every 4 weeks
- On Call Requirements: None

Floating Policy:


1. Travelers
2. PRN Staff
3. Date Last Floated

Patient Experience Goals:


- Focus on nurses' courtesy and respect
- Emphasis on teamwork to enhance patient care

Certifications Needed:


- ACLS
- BLS
- NIH

Advanced Skills Required:


- Care for patients with moderate physiologic instability, including conditions like:
- COPD exacerbation
- Pneumonia
- CHF
- Trach patients

Patient Monitoring Needs:


- Vital Signs: Every 4 hours
- Continuous Cardiac Monitoring
- Blood Glucose Monitoring: Every 4 hours
- Neurological Monitoring: Variable frequency
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Nursing Interventions:


- Oxygen Therapy:
- Nasal Cannula: All
- BIPAP/CPAP: Up to 80%
- AirVo: Low Flow

Dress Code:


- Required Uniform: Royal Blue
