Social Work Supervisor - Child, Adolescent and Family Services (CAFS)

Job Title: Social Work Supervisor – Child, Adolescent and Family Services (CAFS) The Social Work Supervisor in the outpatient child psychiatry clinic participates as part of the child and adolescent psychiatry leadership team to facilitate clinical and administrative oversight of clinic operations. Mount Sinai Hospital, a 1,134-bed facility, offers comprehensive social work services across multiple programs, providing support to diverse populations. The Department of Social Work Services employs over 450 licensed social workers and offers a pathway to LCSW licensure and extensive professional development. Responsibilities Clinical and administrative supervision of clinic social work staff, ensuring quality service delivery using evidence-based treatments and meeting visit targets. Manage evaluation/intake for new clients and case assignment, balancing clinical and administrative mandates to maintain compliance with state and departmental regulations. Ensure clinical documentation, services, and service provider clearances meet regulatory standards from agencies such as OMH, JCAHO, ACS, and the New York State Justice Center. Participate on the Ambulatory leadership team within the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Ambulatory Psychiatry. Support the educational mission through oversight of interns and didactic teaching for trainees in psychiatry on psychosocial treatment of children, adolescents and families. Maintain an individual caseload of children and families while overseeing staff supervision. Qualifications NYS LCSW license. Extensive experience in providing and supervising evidence-based treatments with children and adolescents in a psychiatric setting. Knowledge of OMH, JCAHO, ACS, and Justice Center regulations and how to implement them in an outpatient mental health setting. Fluency in DSM‑V diagnostic classification and ability to train staff and trainees on its application. Experience developing training curricula in evidence-based psychosocial treatments for interdisciplinary trainees. Minimum one year in the current position.
