Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) / Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)

We are seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our dynamic laboratory team. This position requires proficiency across all areas of the laboratory, including blood bank. You will be responsible for performing tests and related duties to ensure accurate and timely results.

This position is available in various locations within the region, specifically in City, State.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct laboratory tests accurately and efficiently across all lab areas.
• Work independently during the graveyard shift.
• Utilize lab information systems and specific equipment during testing procedures.
• Ensure compliance with quality control and safety standards.
• Document results and communicate findings to appropriate personnel as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) via AMT or ASCP, or as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) via AMT or ASCP.
• Experience working independently, particularly on the graveyard shift.
• Proficiency in blood bank procedures and general laboratory practices.
• Familiarity with various laboratory information systems (e.g., Epic, Wellsky, Unity Real Time, Data Innovations).

Schedule and Shift:

This position requires availability for graveyard shifts as part of a structured six-week schedule. Weekend and holiday work is also required.

Dress Code:

The dress code for this role is either scrubs or business casual attire, with a requirement for closed-toed shoes.

Orientation:

All clinicians are required to attend a department-specific orientation. Please ensure availability for the entire orientation week, even if some modules are conducted remotely.

Additional Information:

• BLS certification is not required for this position as there is no direct patient contact.
• The role does not include performing phlebotomy.
• Hospital policies allow for the cancellation of shifts up to four times during a 13-week assignment.
