BASIC FUNCTION Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot rotating equipment. This position supports the continuous manufacture of quality high density polyethylene (HDPE) and specialty fluids (HDA), consistent with high standards of quality, safety, housekeeping, and good employee relations. RESPONSIBILITIES General Performs a variety of complex duties under limited supervision Able to locate and diagnose failures and do complex repair and troubleshooting of equipment Work under limited supervision, including work performed on callouts All skills required for Millwright I (assemble, disassemble, align mechanical equipment), plus the ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment Understand, support, and comply with all plant safety policies and procedures, including Lock‑Out / Tag‑Out (LOTO), hot work, fall protection, traffic, lifting and rigging, confined space entry, and line break Position is in a chemical processing facility and requires overtime to meet plant needs, including alternative shifts as needed to meet facility needs Position requires on‑call duties, and the successful candidate must be able to respond 24/7, 100% of the time, to plant emergencies on short notice, including nights, weekends, and holidays Complete all assigned training by deadline Contribute to continuous improvement by offering suggestions for long‑term solutions to minimize costs, improve reliability, and improve loss control performance Other duties as assigned Technical Understand and assess the daily operation of various types of equipment including centrifuges, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, agitators, extruders, screw feeders, blowers, pumps, fans, and other mechanical equipment. Based on assessment, provide recommendations to improve reliability Able to read and interpret procedures, design specifications and tolerances, and mechanical drawings and schematics Maintain equipment to design specifications. Replace pump seals, mechanical seals, and pump packing. Provide proper alignment for all rotating equipment using laser alignment tools Perform preventative/predictive maintenance and troubleshoot problems. Determine material needs, sequence of operations, and job methods including the use of a computer for storing and using information for preventive/predictive maintenance Be familiar with SAP, warehouse parts management, design specifications, and applicable procedures. Read and interpret 2D drawings in 3D CORE VALUES Caring: Dedicated to Safety, Employees, Customers, Community and Environment Trustworthy: Living a Culture of Openness, Honesty and Collaboration Connected: Build Strong Partnerships Driven for Excellence: Commit to Continuous Improvement COMPETENCIES Dependability - Meets deadlines, works independently, accountable, maintains focus, punctual, good attendance record Technical Skills - Maintains current understanding of technical processes/equipment uses technology to increase performance/productivity Quality - Strives to eliminate errors, accurate work is a priority, seeks opportunities to improve product/services Safety – HSSE - Works in a safe manner, uses PPE, recognizes hazards, makes safety suggestions and observations, current on Training Mine QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum of five years of directly related experience Understanding of mechanical, rotating, pneumatic, or other equipment Experience in reading process flow diagrams, P&IDs, mechanical drawings and follow mechanical specifications Demonstrated quality decision making Good written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to correctly prioritize multiple tasks Strong attention to detail PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Associate degree or Technical Diploma (2-year program) Six–Seven years of directly related experience Advanced training in field PHYSICAL CAPACITY REQUIREMENTS Follow site safety requirements for the role and wear mandatory FRC and PPE (foot, head, ear, eye, hand, and fall protection) when inside plant environment or where directed by signage or procedure Read and understand technical documents and procedures in English Specific vision abilities include near, far, and intermediate distances, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception Required to work at ground level, from ladders, and from heights greater than 250’ above grade on fixed platforms, mobile equipment platforms, and scaffolding Ascend and descend stairs and stationary vertical ladders with and without a safety cage Access confined spaces and pressure vessels through standard 24" manways Must be capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, crawling, walking, and climbing Sit or stand for extended periods of time Work at computer for significant periods of time throughout the day Required to reach overhead and at shoulder level with hands and arms Must demonstrate fine and gross motor coordination including pinching, gripping, turning, and keyboarding of both hands Move about uneven surfaces, including catwalks, deck grating, and wet and muddy areas Work outside in all weather conditions walking up to ½ mile per job #J-18808-Ljbffr
