Cage Cashier

Description Ellis Island Casino, Hotel & Brewery is looking for a new Cage Cashier! We have over 800 hard‑working and passionate employees throughout our many properties. Position Summary The Cage Cashier is responsible for communicating with all guests in a positive and friendly manner while delivering accurate, efficient, and excellent guest service. Core duties include cash exchange, chip cash‑outs, check cashing transactions, and other monetary transfers of funds. Qualifications Must pass pre‑employment requirements and obtain all work cards, including Gaming Registration. High school graduate or equivalent with computer experience necessary for data entry. Knowledge of 10‑key adding machines, PC computers, and photocopy machine technology. Strong organizational abilities for daily task completion. Well‑groomed appearance and positive attitude. Flexible with shifts, days off, holidays, weekends, and special events. Adaptable to continuous changes. Asset Protection Protects company assets. Adheres to Key Control procedures at all times. Responsible for coin, currency, and chip inventories. Records and balances all currency transactions via computer. Reconciles daily transaction summaries and balances against cash on hand. Stays informed of current policies and procedures and acts accordingly. Cage Knowledge Counts and balances each assigned bank at shift start and end independently. Exchanges cash for TITO tickets and gaming chips. Cash checks for guests (payroll, cash advances, travelers, etc.) per company policies. Prepares and completes all related paperwork (count‑out sheets, payment vouchers, chip transfers, jackpots, etc.). Issues markers and accepts marker payment per marker policies. Works other banks (Main Bank, Chip Bank, Team Member Window) as needed. Critical Evaluation Works independently and unsupervised when required, making sound decisions based on policies. Maintains yearly Title 31 certification and communicates effectively with Compliance Department. Stays open‑minded to daily changes and new information. Knowledgeable about guest events, marketing promotions, and property amenities. Gaming Compliance Obtains and maintains a Nevada Gaming Registration. Logs and accurately records all Title 31 transactions, MTL, CTR, and MIL. Team and Guest Service Provides excellent service to all casino guests and maintains team morale. Handles guest complaints effectively. Keeps the Cage neat, clean, and organized. Performs additional duties as required. Supports other team members and departments.
