Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance. Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects, and translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and other lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families/caregivers for future self‑management. Qualifications Current licensure in the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse. Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. 1 year experience in an acute care hospital setting. Current verification of competency in BLS Healthcare Provider and ACLS through the American Heart Association.
