Director CMC Quality Compliance (Hybrid)

Vertex Pharmaceuticals

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Director of CMC Quality Compliance to lead inspection readiness and compliance programs across internal and external manufacturing sites. This role provides technical and strategic oversight of GMP compliance, quality culture, and regulatory adherence while managing teams and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Oversee inspection readiness and compliance programs across internal sites and external CMOs
Monitor regulatory guidelines and integrate risk-based control strategies into quality systems
Lead cross-functional teams to identify compliance risks and implement improvement action plans
Manage inspection readiness system health, escalations, and governance reporting
Provide technical support and strategic direction to quality and functional teams on compliance matters

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in scientific or allied health field
10+ years of work experience in quality or GMP areas
3+ years of management or leadership experience
Expert knowledge of global GMP requirements and multiple GxP areas
Strong technical expertise in inspection management, risk management, and quality governance
Demonstrated ability to build cross-functional relationships and lead organizational change

Compensation: $184,600 - $277,000 base
