We are currently seeking a Vascular Surgeon to become part of our dedicated team at the Louis A Johnson Clarksburg VAMC. Our healthcare teams are highly skilled and focused on meeting the needs of Veterans, their families, and caregivers.

• Perform open and endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) repairs.
• Conduct dialysis access procedures.
• Engage in diagnostic and interventional angiography, including mesenteric and peripheral vascular interventions.
• Execute lower extremity bypass surgeries.
• Carry out open and endovascular carotid surgeries.
• Supervise and teach surgical residents.
• Provide consultations in both outpatient clinic settings and inpatient wards.
• Oversee initial evaluations, comprehensive workups, history and physical examinations, and admissions for vascular surgery patients as necessary.
• Participate in various committees.

The work schedule is typically Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM , although it may be adjusted based on the needs of the medical center. On-call duties may also be required.

• Recruitment Incentives: Sign-on bonuses available for qualified candidates.
• Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Eligible for student loan reimbursement, with specific requirements to be met within four months of appointment. Award amounts can reach up to $200,000, with eligibility periods ranging from one to five years.
• Salary: Competitive annual salary ranging from $300,000 to $400,000, along with performance bonuses and regular salary increases.
• Paid Time Off: Enjoy 50-55 days of annual paid time off, including 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and potentially 5 days of paid absence for continuing medical education (CME).
• Retirement: Access to a traditional federal pension (with a 5-year vesting period) and a federal 401K plan with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.
• Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options, many of which can be maintained into retirement.
• Licensure: Must hold one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory.
• CME: Potential reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year (must be full-time and board-certified).
• Malpractice Coverage: Free liability protection with tail coverage included.
• Contract: No physician employment contract required. This position may qualify for the Physician Contract Buyout Program, allowing for the buyout of service contracts in exchange for employment at designated rural or highly rural facilities for a minimum of four years.
