You will be a key contributor to the design, development, and delivery of backend systems, working closely with architects, product managers, and other engineers to build reliable and high-performance solutions.Experience in the healthcare domain is a plus, particularly in environments that require high standards for security, compliance, and data integrity.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain microservices using JavaBuild and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS, utilizing services such as EKS and S3Containerize applications using Docker and deploy them via Kubernetes (EKS)Develop and optimize data persistence layers using Aurora (PostgreSQL) and PostgreSQLImplement caching and performance optimizations using RedisWrite, maintain, and review high-quality, scalable, and maintainable codeCollaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business and functional requirements into technical solutionsParticipate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical decision-makingSupport CI/CD pipelines; experience with GitLab CI/CD is a plusTroubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability and performanceFollow best practices for security, scalability, and observabilityRequired Qualifications5–8 years of professional software engineering experienceStrong proficiency in Java and backend developmentHands on experience building front end applications using React or AngularHands-on experience building microservices and RESTful APIsExperience with AWS cloud services, especially EKS and S3Practical experience with Docker and containerized deploymentsSolid experience with relational databases, preferably Aurora (PostgreSQL) or PostgreSQLExperience with Redis or similar caching technologiesStrong understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, and distributed systemsExperience working in Agile or Scrum environmentsGood communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a teamPreferred QualificationsExperience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code toolsExperience with GitLab CI/CD or similar CI/CD platformsPrior experience in the healthcare domain (HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, etc.)Exposure to cloud security and compliance best practicesEligibilityYour Journey with Us:Step into the realm of Availity, where innovation is not just encouraged, but celebrated.
