Maintenance TechnicianThe Maintenance Technician safely and independently performs preventive, routine and reactive maintenance tasks. This role is at Metem, a GE Power business. Metem offers cooling hole technologies in the power generation and aerospace industries to increase engine efficiency. We offer one of the most comprehensive suites of non-conventional and conventional machining services in a sophisticated, knowledgeable, experienced, flexible, environmentally conscious way.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerform predictive, preventative, corrective and routine maintenance on production equipmentRepair, maintain and troubleshoot CNC machinesRepair, assemble and install electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic systemsCalibrate process control equipment and instrumentation.Rebuild, install, and make field repairs on centrifugal and diaphragm pumpsMaintain motor starters, variable frequency drives, and servo controlsInstall piping, conduit, and raceway systemsPerform facilities and building maintenanceDocument work activities using CMMQualifications/RequirementsAssociate degree or Trade School in a technical field and a minimum of 3 years' maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment OR a high school diploma/GED equivalent and a minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentAbility to work 2nd shift: Monday - Friday 2pm - 10pm or 3rd shift: Monday - Friday 10pm - 6amEligibility RequirementsThis role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government export restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Persons (U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and protected individuals (e.g., certain refugees and asylees)). GE will require proof of status prior to employmentAbility and willingness to work overtime and weekends, as requiredAbility and willingness to qualify for / utilize specialized personal protective equipment as required for the position, including arc flash and fall protectionAbility and willingness to obey all safety rules, including wearing personal protective equipment (i.e., steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection in designated areas)Desired CharacteristicsAbility to read and interpret equipment manuals, mechanical / electrical schematics, and other specifications to determine repair method for failed componentsWorking knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic principlesProficiency in electro-mechanical systems, servos, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and industrial controlsStrong problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsExperience with PLC, CNC, and other electronic controlsAbility to work in a team environment as well as independentlySelf-motivated and results drivenThe base hourly pay range for this position is $30 -$45 hr. This position is also eligible for 10% shift differential.This posting is expected to close when a suitable candidate is identified.This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
