Warehouse Specialist

Purpose and Scope The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Note: Exclude workers whose primary duties involve shipping and receiving work (see Shipping/Receiving Clerk), order filling (see Order Filler), or operating forklifts (see Forklift Operator). Essential Responsibilities Perform a variety of warehousing duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan. Rearrange and take inventory of stored materials; examine stored materials and report deterioration and damage; remove material from storage and prepare it for shipment. May operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties. Verify materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, notes and report discrepancies and obvious damages; route materials to prescribed storage locations; store, stack or palletize material in accordance with prescribed storage methods. Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested. Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities High school diploma or GED is required. Six to twelve months job-related experience and/or training is required. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle. Ability to perform work in a safe manner to prevent loss or damage of equipment. Customer‑oriented with ability to courteously and effectively work through difficult situations. Position may require the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance. Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands Must be able to type using a standard keyboard to communicate via email and software applications. Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day. Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands. Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above/below shoulders. Must be able to lift heavy objects whose weight may exceed 50 pounds. Must be able to pass a Respirator Physical and Fit Test qualification. Must be able to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, and related equipment. May work in warehouse or outside where it is drafty, noisy and dirty. May be exposed to extreme noise from operating equipment. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards or work near moving mechanical parts or vehicles. Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). May be required to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, to austere environments, under harsh living conditions. Other Responsibilities Safety: Ensure a safety culture by completing training, fulfilling self‑aid, participating in emergency response, and serving on safety committees. Quality: Adhere to the Amentum Quality Policy, carry out job activities in compliance with applicable quality systems and customer contracts, and meet customer satisfaction objectives. Procedure Compliance: Read, understand and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures and policies pertaining to the job. Service Contract Act Compensation & Benefits This is an hourly, overtime‑eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). The hourly rate may be supplemented by additional health and welfare payments in accordance with the SCA. Compensation Details Hourly rate: $21.73 (actual compensation may vary).
