Maintenance Technician

Responsibilities Fixing and maintaining mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines Rebuilding, repairing, and/or replacing equipment, machinery, or parts Performing preventative maintenance Installing equipment, machinery, or parts Inspecting and troubleshooting equipment and systems as directed by supervisor Completing daily required reporting as well as additional reports as instructed Collaborating with management and other departments regarding maintenance issues throughout the facility Completing all assignments in priority order as delegated by the supervisor Completing startup procedures when appropriate Notifying supervisor of any unusual conditions that may result in downtime Completing assignment tickets accurately and timely Recording all crisis and unscheduled work orders on the assignment ticket Responding to crisis situations in an expedient manner Maintaining tools in good working order Returning all borrowed tools to the owning area Completing all work and safety training as designated by plant management Responding to crisis situations as assigned by supervisor Ensuring that all appropriate safety procedures are followed Participating in cost control measures, including the return of all unused material to supply Maintaining refrigeration system Other duties as assigned Qualifications Demonstrated 2 years or more working in maintenance Mechanical skills and understanding of basic machine functions Ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches Basic computer skills Willingness to work and be on time when scheduled Ability to read, write and speak English preferred Strong work ethic and eye for detail Exemplary safety record (with previous employer) Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Prior industry experience preferred General knowledge of plant layout and production floor equipment and processes Benefits Hourly wage for this position starts at $26.00 per hour up to $34.50 per hour depending on experience $3.00 per hour perfect attendance bonus paid out weekly Quarterly and annual perfect attendance bonuses Family‑friendly benefits including health, vision and dental coverage 401(k) retirement plan with company match Paid vacation after 90 days of service Paid holiday Employee meat purchase sales Paid life insurance This is a safety-sensitive position.
