Bilingual Resident Advocate

Job Overview The Bridge is searching for a Resident Advocate to provide direct services to residents in a 100-bed emergency shelter for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and women and children experiencing homelessness. Compensation & Work Hours Full Time / Non-Exempt: 36 hours per week Schedule: Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7am-7pm Salary: $33,696 annually Responsibilities Conduct initial intake of residents and provide orientation on shelter guidelines and available services. Assign rooms, supervise residents, and maintain overall safety while delivering quality client services. Document services in compliance with grants, maintain statistical records, update daily house census, and log reports each shift. Assist Food Services staff by conducting daily meal counts; oversee residents during meal times to ensure safety and cleanliness. Answer 24‑hour hotline, live chat, and text, providing telephone assessments including safety planning, crisis intervention, information and referrals. Update and assist with overseeing the HCDV shelter bed database, ensuring the TBOTW account reflects accurate bed availability daily. Conduct routine walkthroughs to monitor facility cleanliness and help ensure resident safety and compliance with shelter guidelines. Provide orientation to volunteers and new staff as designated. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications High School Diploma/GED (Bachelor’s degree highly desired). At least two years’ experience providing direct care in social services or a residential setting with at‑risk clientele. Bilingual in English and Spanish. Other Requirements Pass a criminal background investigation check. Maintain a current Texas driver’s license. Maintain a clean driving record and update it annually. Maintain current auto liability insurance. Be authorized to work in the U.S. Be able to lift or carry up to forty pounds and ascend or descend stairs in an emergency shelter setting. #J-18808-Ljbffr
