As an OTA, you already understand how visual skills impact daily occupation, learning, motor development, attention, and overall functional performance. What You'll Do Deliver one-on-one vision therapy sessions under the guidance of our doctors and clinical leadership team Build strong relationships with patients and families Track patient progress and communicate treatment outcomes Learn specialized vision therapy procedures, equipment, and protocols Support patients with visual processing, eye coordination, attention, and learning challenges Collaborate with doctors and fellow therapists to achieve exceptional patient outcomes Contribute to a positive, supportive, and growth-focused team culture Innovative Therapy Tools & Technology At Virginia Vision Therapy Center, therapists utilize a variety of specialized vision therapy equipment, including the Optometric Multi-Sensory Training Table (OMST). The OMST is an interactive therapy system that combines visual, auditory, motor, balance, and cognitive activities to strengthen brain-body-eye connections. This unique platform challenges patients to integrate multiple sensory systems simultaneously while improving: Visual processing and visual attention Eye-hand coordination Bilateral integration Motor planning and body awareness Balance and spatial orientation Reaction time and cognitive flexibility Executive functioning skills For Occupational Therapy Assistants, OMST offers a familiar rehabilitation approach that combines elements of sensory integration, neurodevelopmental treatment, visual-motor training, and functional skill development. Therapy sessions often involve movement-based activities that actively engage the visual and vestibular systems while promoting improved performance in school, work, sports, and everyday life. Qualifications Preferred Associate's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current OTA/COTA license or license eligibility Experience working with children Healthcare, rehabilitation, or patient care experience Strong communication and interpersonal skills Positive attitude and willingness to learn Ideal Candidate Passionate about helping patients succeed Team-oriented and collaborative Curious, coachable, and committed to professional growth Comfortable providing hands-on therapy activities Motivated to master specialized vision therapy techniques Physical Requirements This is an active clinical role requiring: Standing and walking throughout the day Getting on the floor and kneeling during therapy activities Performing hands-on therapeutic exercises Working with visual activities that may occasionally trigger discomfort in sensitive individuals Ability to demonstrate and participate in therapy tasks and exercises Compensation & Benefits Pay $30-32 hourly DOE Annual compensation increases based on performance and professional growth Benefits begin on day one of employment Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Paid Time Off (PTO) Employee discount Professional development assistance Tuition reimbursement Paid travel time when applicable Schedule Full-Time Monday-Friday
