About the Role:

The General Foundry Molding position at Spokane Steel Foundry is a critical role responsible for producing high-quality molds used in steel casting processes. The successful candidate will work closely with the production team to prepare and shape sand molds that meet precise specifications, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the final cast products. This role demands a strong attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards to maintain the foundry's reputation for excellence. The position involves hands-on work with molding equipment and materials, requiring physical stamina and the ability to work in a dynamic industrial environment. Ultimately, the role contributes directly to the efficient and safe production of steel castings that meet customer requirements and industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in foundry molding or a related manufacturing environment.
• Basic understanding of foundry processes and mold making techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy materials and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in foundry operations or mold making.
• Experience working with steel casting molds specifically.
• Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in industrial manufacturing settings.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and assemble sand molds according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Operate molding machines and hand tools to shape and finish molds.
• Inspect molds for defects and make necessary adjustments to ensure quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with foundry team members to coordinate production schedules and meet deadlines.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols and procedures.
• Monitor and replenish molding materials and supplies as needed.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
