Job Description
About The Creekside School
The Creekside School is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Through person-centered support, meaningful relationships, and evidence-based practices, we empower every individual to reach their fullest potential while fostering independence, dignity, and community inclusion.
Our school provides individualized educational and therapeutic services designed to help students build communication, academic, social, behavioral, and life skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. Every day, our team works together to create meaningful learning experiences where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
No two days are the same. One day you might be celebrating a student’s first successful use of an AAC device, the next collaborating with teachers to support communication in the classroom, helping a student strengthen their social communication skills, or celebrating a milestone they’ve worked hard to achieve. Every day brings new opportunities to make a meaningful difference while building lasting relationships.
Our Mission in ActionAt The Creekside School, we believe every student deserves the opportunity to learn, communicate, and thrive. Our Speech-Language Pathologists play an essential role in helping students build functional communication skills, increase independence, strengthen social connections, and reach their fullest potential.
Whether you’re supporting a student’s first spoken word, introducing a new communication strategy, or helping a family celebrate a breakthrough, you’ll make a meaningful difference every day.
Why You’ll Love Working HereWhen you join The Creekside School, you become part of a team that values collaboration, compassion, and continuous learning.
We offer:
- Meaningful work that makes a lasting difference in students’ lives.
- A supportive team that values collaboration and respect.
- Ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Opportunities to grow your career in special education and related services.
- A person-centered environment where every student is treated with dignity and respect.
- The opportunity to help students develop communication skills that promote lifelong independence.
Our work is guided by the values that define The Creekside School:
- Relationships First – We build trusting relationships with students, families, and one another.
- Person-Centered Support – Every student’s strengths, goals, and individual needs guide our services.
- Learning Through Experience – We create meaningful opportunities for students to communicate, connect, and grow.
- Teamwork – We collaborate across disciplines to support every student’s success.
- Continuous Growth – We believe in learning, improving, and helping every student reach their fullest potential.
Are you passionate about helping students find their voice and build meaningful connections?
The Creekside School is seeking a compassionate, collaborative, and student-centered Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our multidisciplinary team. You’ll work with students with autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities by providing individualized assessments, therapy, and communication supports that promote independence, confidence, and success.
As an SLP, you’ll do more than provide therapy—you’ll build relationships, empower students to communicate, collaborate with educators and families, and help create meaningful learning experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Every day is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Our Speech-Language Pathologists work closely with students, families, teachers, behavior specialists, occupational therapists, and other related service providers to deliver evidence-based, person-centered services that promote communication, inclusion, and lifelong learning.

- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans aligned with student IEP goals.
- Provide individual and small-group speech-language therapy.
- Support speech, language, social communication, voice, fluency, and functional communication development.
- Implement and support augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and communication strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary team members to integrate communication goals across educational environments.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, assessments, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary planning.
- Provide consultation and training to staff regarding communication strategies and student supports.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice initiatives.
- Support a collaborative, positive school environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or eligible.
- Experience working with children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorders and/or developmental disabilities.
- Experience supporting students using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems.
- Knowledge of IEP development, special education regulations, and documentation requirements.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional growth.
- Meaningful work that changes students’ lives every day.
- Supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team.
- Ongoing professional development and clinical growth opportunities.
- Opportunities for career advancement.
- Work in a person-centered school that values dignity, inclusion, collaboration, and lifelong learning.
