Veterinary Technician - Oncology

Candidates are eligible for a sign on bonus up to $10,000 based on experience.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Framingham, MA is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our Oncology team!

Play a vital role in diagnosing and treating cancer using advanced tools like radiography, ultrasound, biopsies, and cytology while assisting with chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery.

Schedule: 4x10 hour week day shifts

Pay: $24.50 - $49.00 / hour

This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. Candidates with VTS credentialing are eligible for compensation commensurate with experience.

As an Oncology Technician, you will:

• Performphysical exams, assess vital signs, and recognize abnormal lab values.

• Conductphlebotomy and placeIV catheters for chemotherapy administration.

• Safelyprepare, dispense, and administer oral, SC, and IM chemotherapy agents.

• Verifychemotherapy calculations, dosages, and proper IV catheter setup.

• Recognize and respond tochemotherapy extravasation.

• Admit and discharge patients, obtaining history and educating clients ontreatment, side effects, and home care.

• Communicate effectively withclients and veterinary teams, addressing concerns and facilitating calls.

• Understandtumor types, diagnostic protocols, and oncology-specific terminology.

• Assist withanesthesia monitoring for ASA I & II patients.

• Stay current onR.E.C.O.V.E.R. CPR guidelines and hospital protocols.

• Perform other relevant role responsibilities.
