Our organization is actively seeking a Psychiatrist specializing in either Adult or Child Psychiatry to become a part of our dedicated team.

• Focus on outpatient care only

• Work schedule: Monday to Friday

• Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

• Manage a caseload of 12-15 patients daily

• No on-call responsibilities

• Opportunity to mentor medical students and residents, if desired, but participation is optional

• Robust support team including supervisors, case managers, community support specialists, schedulers, nurses, and primary care consultants

• On-site pharmacy and pharmacist available

Overview

Our organization operates as a community health center, delivering and coordinating behavioral health services for over 8,000 adults with severe mental illnesses and children with significant emotional disturbances across St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and surrounding counties. As an Administrative Agent for the Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), we play a crucial role in facilitating access to mental health services funded by DMH and act as a gatekeeper for the public mental health system.

Role Purpose

Our goal is to provide exceptional care by ensuring the safety and well-being of patients within the assigned service area.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to achieve outstanding clinical outcomes.

• Oversee the medical care of assigned clients.

• Engage in performance improvement initiatives, task forces, and committees.

• Conduct and document patient histories and mental status evaluations in medical records.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• Doctorate in Medicine

Experience

• No prior experience required

Licenses & Certifications

• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration

• State-specific BNDD certification

Preferred Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

• Eligibility for Board Certification in Psychiatry
