Desired Length of Employment: Summer/Ongoing Pay Rate: $10/hr Job Description: The Mayborn Event Host is responsible for helping deliver smooth, high-quality event experiences for museum guests. This role supports birthday parties and a range of public and private events, often working independently to ensure spaces are prepared, guests are cared for, and events run seamlessly. This position is best suited for a self-directed, dependable student who takes initiative, follows through, and is comfortable managing responsibilities without constant direction. Event Hosts should be observant, adaptable, and willing to step in wherever needed to support the overall success of an event. This is not a passive role-hosts are expected to stay engaged, anticipate needs, and take ownership of their events. Key Responsibilities:

- Execute event setup and breakdown efficiently and with attention to detail
- Serve as an on-site host for events, providing a welcoming and helpful presence for guests
- Monitor event flow and proactively address needs or issues as they arise
- Communicate clearly with staff, clients, and visitors throughout the event
- Maintain clean, organized, and guest-ready spaces
- Support a variety of event and hospitality tasks as assigned
- Schedule varies week to week based on event needs
- Must be available to work some evenings and weekends
- Expected to be reliable, punctual, and prepared for each shift
- Demonstrates initiative and can work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong sense of responsibility and follow-through
- Comfortable adapting to changing needs in a fast-paced environment
- Professional, friendly, and confident interacting with guests
- Detail-oriented with good time management skills
- Clear communicator and effective problem-solve
- Ability to comply with University policies and maintain consistent attendance
