The Robotic Process Automation (RPA) AI Engineer involves designing, analyzing, developing, testing, implementing, supporting, and enhancing sophisticated RPA solutions and AI/ML technologies to meet the evolving needs of the enterprise. The individual in this role is an experienced professional working under general supervision who will work on large and moderately complex projects or assignments. You will be responsible for minor moderate changes in systems and processes with opportunity to work on larger and more complex problems. Most troubleshooting will span range of issues, which are typically solved through prior experience and analysis of the details. You will also collaborate with business analysts, client areas, and technical staff to identify and specify requirements for technical solutions within the Purdue University system.

Additionally, the role encompasses the responsibility to install, configure, develop, test, maintain, and support operating systems, application software, and system management tools to facilitate RPA solutions. Continuous monitoring of installed systems and infrastructure is required to ensure stability, integrity, security, and efficient operation of in-house automations. You will play a crucial role in determining RPA design requirements and overseeing the successful implementation and monitoring of system improvements to increase efficiency.

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing changes in systems and processes to solve problems or enhance the effectiveness of RPA solutions. Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders is essential to influence others regarding facts, policies, and practices related to RPA and AI. This role contributes to the advancement of RPA and AI technologies at Purdue University and supports the overall growth of the institution's technological capabilities. You will also provide support for automations after hours and on weekends as needed.

This position has a target salary between $60,100 - $70,975 commensurate with education and experience.

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience Needed

• Bachelor's degree in technology , computer science, engineering, computer engineering, systems analysis, or closely related field
• Minimum Two (2) to Three (3) years of experience in AI Automation (UiPath preferred)
• An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be accepted

Skills Needed:

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision on daily tasks and projects
• Skill to interpret and document end-user support and information needs and to design, program, test, and implement solutions to address those needs
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues
• Awareness of best practices to secure data and processes from unauthorized access
• Strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and continuous improvement
• Experience with automation tools and building AI/ML solutions
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for deploying automations and AI/ML models
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and project management practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and drive results.
• Ability to:
