Role Description The Coordinator of Emergency Medical and Related (EMS) Training Programs is a full-time, on-site role based in Creston, IA. This position oversees the planning, coordination, and delivery of EMS and related training programs, ensuring compliance with state and national standards. Daily responsibilities include scheduling courses, managing instructor assignments, maintaining training records, and coordinating clinical and field experiences with partner agencies. The coordinator collaborates with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to develop curriculum, update training materials, and support student recruitment and retention. The role also involves monitoring program quality, preparing reports, supporting accreditation and regulatory requirements, and providing guidance to learners pursuing EMS certifications and related credentials. Qualifications Demonstrated knowledge and experience in emergency medical services (EMS), emergency response, or healthcare-related training. Experience coordinating educational or training programs, including scheduling, record-keeping, and stakeholder communication. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple courses, learners, and deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to collaborate with instructors, students, and external partners. Familiarity with regulatory, certification, and accreditation standards relevant to EMS and allied health training (or willingness to learn quickly). Proficiency with basic office software, learning management systems, and data tracking tools used in academic or training environments. Ability to work on-site in Creston, IA, and engage in occasional travel to partner locations or regional training sites as needed. Associate or bachelor’s degree in education, healthcare, EMS, public safety, or a related field preferred; relevant professional experience considered. Current or prior EMS certification (e.g., EMT, AEMT, paramedic) or experience in emergency medical or public safety environments is highly beneficial.
