Chatham County Human Resources (HR) has a fall internship available for an undergraduate or graduate student in HR Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or other closely related fields. If so, we encourage you to apply!Examples of duties include:Complete projects for the Talent Management, Benefits, or the Compensation and Compliance & Workforce Development teams.Assist with recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, training, benefits, compensation, and workforce development projects.Support HR staff with data collection, data entry, reporting, research, and preparation of presentations and informational materials.Assist with maintaining accurate employee records, HR databases, forms, and other departmental documentation.Participate in recruitment events, employee programs, training sessions, meetings, and other HR activities.Assist with projects designed to improve HR processes, employee services, and organizational effectiveness.Conduct research on human resources practices, policies, workforce trends, and related topics.Support the development and distribution of employee communications and training materials.Assist with benefits and compensation-related projects and administrative activities.Provide professional and courteous customer service to employees and applicants while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.Complete online and in-person training activities.Perform other related duties and special projects assigned.Minimum qualifications include:Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program or a recent college graduate within the past year in Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Sociology, Cultural Anthropology, or a closely related field.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.During emergencies and disasters affecting Chatham County, you may be required to report to work as part of a disaster operations team.In accordance with the Department of Transportation, Commercial Driver's License (CDL) holders and those employed in safety-sensitive positions are subject to random drug testing.Candidates with direct and relevant experience may receive an offer of up to 10% above the minimum salary that is posted, reflecting their exceptional qualifications.Chatham County provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, physical or mental disability, genetic information, marital status, or military/veteran status in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
