Job Title: Welder Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join a growing fabrication and manufacturing team in Gadsden, Alabama. This position is responsible for performing welding and fabrication tasks on a variety of metal components while ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are met. The ideal candidate will be experienced in reading blueprints, interpreting work orders, setting up welding equipment, and producing high-quality welds in a fast-paced shop environment. Candidates should possess strong attention to detail and a commitment to workplace safety.

• Perform MIG welding on carbon steel and other metal components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications.
• Set up and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
• Grind, fit, and prepare materials prior to welding.
• Use hand tools, power tools, tape measures, and fabrication equipment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with production, fabrication, and quality teams to meet production schedules.
• Assist with other fabrication duties as assigned.

• Previous MIG welding experience.
• Ability to use basic measuring tools.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

• Manufacturing or fabrication shop experience.
• Experience working in a production environment.
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance record.

The work environment is an indoor manufacturing and fabrication shop with exposure to welding fumes, sparks, noise, and varying temperatures. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required. The role involves standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive movement throughout the shift in a team-oriented, production-driven setting.

This is a Contract position based out of Gadsden, AL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
