Software Systems Engineer II
Medtronic
Medtronic seeks a Software Systems Engineer II to support the development of the Affera cardiac mapping and ablation system. The role focuses on system architecture modeling, requirements traceability, and applying model-based systems engineering principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain system and software architecture models using SysML
- Apply MBSE principles to connect system intent to software services and components
- Define interface contracts and allocations between system, software, and hardware
- Author and review software requirements with bidirectional traceability
- Perform risk analysis activities including FMEA and interface risk identification
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 2+ years experience, or master's degree in related field
- Knowledge of medical product development, IEC-62304, ISO 13485, and FDA guidance
- Proficiency in Python, C++, C#, or similar programming languages
- Experience with requirements-driven development and traceability practices
- Familiarity with MBSE concepts and SysML modeling
- Strong documentation practices and technical writing skills
- Unrestricted U.S. work authorization at time of hire
