Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary

Job Summary PeaceHealth is seeking a Respiratory Therapist - Pulmonary for a full‑time, 1.00 FTE, day position. Salary range $40.11 – $60.17, dependent on education, training, experience, and other factors. Location Vancouver, Washington – scenic area with mountains, forests, Columbia River Gorge, and proximity to Portland. Ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and city living, with arts and culinary amenities. Responsibilities Cares for the cardio‑pulmonary needs of all assigned patients, including routine diagnostic procedures and complex critical care support, intervention, and transport support. Provides respiratory care: diagnostic testing, oxygen and medication delivery, bronchial hygiene, arterial/capillary blood gas draw and analysis, advanced airway, and life support. Performs patient assessment, monitors labs, hemodynamics, and radiology findings; assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individual patient care appropriate to age. Calibrates, cleans, sets up, maintains, and troubleshoots all patient‑related equipment and instruments; assembles and stores cleaned equipment. Participates in in‑house educational in‑services, inter‑ and intradepartmental seminars, and workshops as requested by Manager. Participates in intermittent department tasks: audits, quality assurance, statistical record keeping, patient charting, and special projects as specified by Manager. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Accredited 2‑year AMA‑approved Respiratory Care Program or equivalent. Must pass the NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist exam within 6 months of hire. Minimum 2 years of experience in acute care (preferred). Minimum 1 year in a pulmonary function lab (preferred). Preferred experience in ICU, Pediatrics, or Obstetrics. Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner license or grandfathered status for prior workers. Registered Respiratory Therapist within 6 months. Basic Life Support certification. CPFT or RPFT certification preferred. Knowledge of electronic EMR systems (EPIC preferred). Knowledge of MedGraphic equipment a plus. Skills Proficiency with MS Office applications (required). Ability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot all respiratory or pulmonary function‑related equipment quickly and efficiently (required). Ability to assess acute, critical care situations and respond decisively and appropriately (required). Good time‑management skills (required).
