Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering safe and effective patient care while utilizing the nursing process. This position requires the ability to float between the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Telemetry units.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care adhering to the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Monitor and communicate with physicians regarding changes in patients' clinical conditions, including hemodynamic monitoring and diagnostic study results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient conditions and treatment responses.
• Educate patients and their families about care plans and health management.
• Oversee and guide the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining high standards of care.
• Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained at all times.

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in the state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital or critical care environment.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification is preferred.
• COVID-19 vaccination and boosters are preferred.

Required Skills

• Proficient in strip interpretation and titration of drips.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Completion of the necessary immunizations and health screenings.
• Compliance with facility health and safety protocols.
