Job Summary:
The ICU Surgical Nurse position is based in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves providing specialized care for adult patients within the surgical intensive care unit of an acute care hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex patient needs, including neurological and post-operative care, and will need to bring their nursing license on the first day.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts (1845-0715), minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale); minimum 1 year of ICU experience; experience in adult critical care and charting with Cerner; candidates must have at least 18 months of unit-specific experience or general ICU experience; documentation of certifications as specified in the unit description.
• Preferred Qualifications: Trauma Level I experience, prior travel experience.
• Float: Float rotation may be required as the nurse will float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals.
• Additional Information: Candidates will assess neurological patients, manage intubations, perform post-operative and post-neurosurgery care, and utilize special equipment such as external ventricular drains and CRRT. The unit typically cares for adult neurological patients, including stroke, hemorrhagic stroke, and post-interventional radiology procedures.
• Submission Requirements: Provide 2-3 interview times upon submission. SSN and date of birth are required at the time of submittal. Candidates must have IL license in hand at submission and be pre-closed at the time of application. RTO requests should be no more than 5 days; candidates must be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays.
