Travel Plaza Transportation, LLC (TPT) has evolved into one of Hawaii's largest bus operators, with an extensive fleet of commercial vehicles, and a broad suite of transportation service offerings on Oahu. In 2019, we introduced a new fleet of vehicles, including electric buses. TPT is the first private transportation company to acquire electric buses in support of our island community and the rest of the global community to achieve environmental sustainability.

Dayforce: Pine Street - Safety & Driver - HNL Drivers [Pay Range: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour]

SIGN-ON BONUS (limited time only) ELIGIBILITY: Newly hired FULL-TIME CDL B Drivers with Passenger endorsement and Air Brakes (does not include rehires, part-time, or on-call employees) PAY OUT: $1,500.00 (for each eligible new employee) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AVAILABLE UPON HIRE

Primary Responsibilities:

• Drive commercial vehicles, according to Federal Department of Transportation regulations, transporting JTB Hawaii guests and customers on specific routes throughout the Island of Oahu, in a professional and friendly manner.

Percent Time Spent - Essential Functions

• 45% - Provide safe transportation for airport transfers, charter excursions, tours. Provide customer service, assist in loading and loading passengers from vehicles. Assist with loading and unloading customer baggage.
• 45% - Drive vehicle in accordance with State, Federal, and traffic regulations. Observe all traffic signals, signs, other vehicles, and pedestrians on the streets, freeways, and highways, avoiding accidents.
• 5% - Conduct Pre/Post- Trip inspections in accordance with Federal Department of Transportation (DOT) and Travel Plaza Transportation regulations and policies.
• 5% - Record readings and information as required by procedures. Required to complete Accident Reports and check-in/out with Dispatch.

Secondary/Other Duties:

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High school graduate, and required to be at least 21 years of age.
• Required to possess a valid Hawaii driver's license with a totally clean driver abstract.
• Required to possess a commercial driver's license (CDL), B or C, with air brake and passenger endorsements. Must be able to drive any type of commercial vehicle requiring a CDL "B" and/or "C".
• Possess at least one (1) year experience in customer service or hospitality-related experience, preferred.
• Able to frequently communicate with customers over a 2-way radio, cell phone, public address (PA) system and microphone in English and/or Japanese.
• Able to work independently and work cooperatively with others; able to work with employees, business partners, and customers in a professional and positive manner.
• Able to multi-task when vehicle in motion, while communicating with Dispatch over two-way radio.

Working Conditions:

Working Hours

Shift work variable between 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m., 7 days/week. Overtime, weekend and holiday work required.

Environmental Conditions:

Subject to atmospheric conditions including: an air conditioned office, noise, fumes, vehicle exhaust, dust, and adverse weather conditions.

• Possess visual acuity; including constant peripheral awareness or side vision, eye coordination, depth perception, focusing ability and color vision.
