Position Overview Weaver is hiring a Senior Associate Chemical Engineer to join its Energy Compliance Services (ECS) team. The ECS practice helps businesses navigate regulation from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, California Air Resources Board, and other states and provinces. The role focuses on environmental programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and advance sustainability, particularly in transportation fuels. Responsibilities Lead assurance and consulting engagements related to regulatory compliance. Assist with and supervise engineering reviews. Conduct on‑site inspections of renewable fuel production facilities. Perform mass and energy balance calculations. Prepare client‑ready deliverables and provide regular status updates. Collaborate closely with leadership in Houston to execute plans. Travel up to 15% of the time to U.S. client sites. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university. At least 2 years of experience in chemical engineering, with a solid background in project management, consulting, regulatory compliance, and/or client relations. Current EIT license. Experience performing mass and energy balance calculations. Experience interpreting and preparing block flow diagrams (BFDs), process flow diagrams (PFDs), and process descriptions. Strong independent thinking, decision‑making, writing, and presentation skills. Ability to adjust working style to collaborate effectively with diverse perspectives. Excellent time‑management skills, maintaining multiple lines of communication and responding promptly to requests. Preferred Qualifications Plans to pursue a Professional Engineer (PE) license; if not, currently holds or is working toward a PMP certification. Exposure to the oil and gas industry or experience in energy compliance and fuels regulations. Extensive understanding of refining and renewable fuel production processes. Active participation in professional or civic organization events.
