HVAC Technician

Job Summary The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR site supervisor and support the site supervisor by performing quality maintenance work that upholds professional standards. Responsibilities include general facility maintenance, equipment maintenance, carpentry repairs, and other general tasks as required. The role requires a U.S. citizen, a valid driver’s license, and 3–5 years of hands‑on facility maintenance experience. Applicants should demonstrate a professional appearance, strong customer service, and effective communication skills. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Communicates effectively with the Site Supervisor & Site Manager to determine service needs. Repairs walls, floors, doors, and performs painting and touch‑up work to beautify the facility. Repairs and unclogs toilets and urinals, replaces and maintains valve assemblies, and repairs sensors for automatic flush kits. Maintains and repairs air‑handling equipment, vent fans, and circulation fans. Maintains a strict preventive maintenance (PM) schedule. Maintains gates and fences, changes filters, checks and maintains docks and overhead doors, eyewash stations and showers, and performs exterior and interior building inspections, parking lot and landscape inspections. Performs a wide variety of corrective maintenance work requests. Assists other skilled employees to perform projects as requested. Qualifications Education: HS Diploma (or equivalent). Business Experience: 3–5 years of facility maintenance experience. Licenses/Certifications: Valid U.S. driver’s license; Pass background and drug screening; Required: EPA 608 Universal License. Recommended: NATE Service Certificate. Preferred: NATE Install Certificate. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to speak effectively before customers or associates. Technical Qualifications & Skills Ability to perform various general maintenance tasks. Familiar with smart devices such as phones and iPads. Ability to draft routine reports, timesheets, and correspondence using basic computer skills and email/internet. Knowledge of Trane and Siemens systems. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be able to change filters and clean coils as needed. Organization skills to maintain client facility maintenance records and reports. Must perform inspections of the building interior and exterior to maintain a “like‑new” appearance. Physical Demands Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, walk the facility throughout the day, kneel repeatedly, move 90‑degree turns, maneuver on various terrains. Ability to interact with all clients in a professional, friendly manner even during stressful periods. Work Environment Exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, electrical shock, vibration, and loud noise levels. May be required to work in confined, restricted, and hot areas; perform snow removal with extended time outdoors in cold/snow conditions. Possibility of overtime, holidays, and weekends.
