Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner

Hi, Please find the job details below for the NP position in Urgent Care. Location : Richmond, VA. Coverage Location : VA Dates of Coverage : 3 days/week as soon as credentialed until perm is hired Schedule : Clinics are open 7 days a week, 8a-8p, shifts will be 12 hours +, depending upon patient flow, expected to see all patients who arrive during those hours of operation Call Coverage : No Call Type : "N/A" Call Ratio : N/A Average Amount of Call Back Hours: N/A Number of Providers Needed : 3 FT (3 shifts/wk each, 9 total shifts/wk) Reason for Coverag e: lack of provider bandwidth to cover all needs due to resignations Practice Setting(s): "Clinic" Leadership Position/Required to Teach: No Patient Population : patient population is birth to death and can vary from clinic to clinic, day by day % Outpatient vs Inpatien t: 100% outpatient Average # of Patients Per Day : varies by clinic, but can be anywhere from 25 to 50 per day, higher as we approach cold & flu season Trauma Level Designation : episodic events, higher acuity will need to be sent for higher level of care (ED. ER, etc.) Required Duties, Procedures, Skills, etc : Laceration Repair: Simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling, Incision and drainage (I&D): including packing, Foreign Body Removal, Minor Burn Management, Skin Lesion Care, Orthopedic & Injury Stabilization, Splinting & Casting, Joint Reduction, Diagnostic & Point-of-Care Testing, X-Ray Interpretation, Electrocardiogram (EKG): Evaluation, Point-of-Care Lab Interpretation: Reviewing rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing, Epistaxis Management: Anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery (silver nitrate) for nosebleeds, Cerumen impaction removal, Airway Support: Administration of nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization. Board Certified - REQUIRED Active VA license - REQUIRED Active BLS- REQUIRED Active DEA - REQUIRED At least 1 year of experience in an ED/ER. primary care, or urgent care setting- REQUIRED Clean background/no malpractice or license issues, no exceptions - REQUIRED
