Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (19:00–07:30) | Every other weekend coverage expected, subject to change based on need

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to inpatient adults with actual or potential life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions, including sepsis, MI, unstable angina, and Coronary Artery Disease
• Administer and monitor vasoactive drug infusions, IV antiarrhythmic therapy, thrombolytic therapy, and anticoagulation
• Perform and interpret cardiac telemetry monitoring and EKGs
• Assist with or support procedures including defibrillation/cardioversion and thoracentesis
• Monitor patients using non-invasive blood pressure monitoring and other assessment tools
• Float to like units or other facilities as needed based on census demands; staff will only float to units for which competencies have been demonstrated and documented

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina RN license required
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience required
• Must reside more than 100 miles from all system facilities to be fully eligible; candidates residing 90–99.9 miles away may be considered at a reduced rate; for this specialty on night shift, candidates must be at least 50 miles from the contracted campus — candidates under 50 miles are ineligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiac Stepdown or a similar unit preferred
• First-time travelers may be considered based on relevant clinical experience
• Experience with vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drug administration in a stepdown or progressive care setting
