Patient Recruitment & Retention Senior Manager As a senior manager at Amgen, you will own the development and execution of patient recruitment & retention (PRR) and decentralized clinical trial (DCT) strategies across the portfolio, partnering with clinical program teams, global study management, and cross‑functional data teams. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement PRR and DCT strategies; establish feasibility criteria and identify opportunities for leveraging these approaches. Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of PRR and DCT elements into clinical trials. Advocate for adoption of innovative PRR and DCT approaches, addressing concerns and promoting best practices. Identify and evaluate suitable technologies and vendors; conduct market research, assess capabilities, and select appropriate solutions. Lead evaluation of trial protocols and sites for suitability for PRR & DCT implementation, considering patient population, regulatory landscape, and technology infrastructure. Adapt protocols to integrate PRR & DCT elements, ensuring compliance with regulations and ethical considerations. Manage and monitor PRR & DCT execution using data analytics tools to track progress, identify trends, and measure effectiveness. Identify and manage potential risks associated with PRR & DCT implementation; develop mitigation strategies to ensure patient safety and data integrity. Knowledge & Expertise Stay informed on evolving PRR & DCT trends, regulations, and industry best practices. Deep understanding of various PRR & DCT approaches and methodologies. Develop and deliver training programs to upskill internal teams. Analyze and report on KPIs related to PRR & DCT implementation; provide insights for continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications Doctorate/PhD and at least 2 years of relevant experience, orMaster’s degree and 4 years, orBachelor’s degree and 6 years, orAssociate’s degree and 10 years, orHigh school diploma/GED and 12 years of experience. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Public Health, Clinical Research, Healthcare, or related field. 5+ years in clinical development, operations, patient recruitment & retention, or related functions in pharma, biotech, CRO, or healthcare. Experience developing and implementing PRR strategies to support trial enrollment. Understanding of clinical trial operations: feasibility, enrollment planning, burden reduction, and risk mitigation. Experience with patient‑facing solutions and decentralized or hybrid trial approaches. Demonstrated ability to identify, evaluate, and manage external vendors and strategic partners. Experience using operational data and metrics to monitor recruitment progress and inform decisions. Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills and ability to influence without direct authority. Knowledge of ICH‑GCP, clinical research regulations, and patient privacy requirements. Experience driving process improvements, developing best practices, and scaling capabilities across multiple studies. Strong project management, communication, presentation, and relationship‑management skills. Experience supporting global clinical trials and working across geographies preferred. Familiarity with patient advocacy organizations, digital recruitment, and trial technologies preferred. Compensation & Benefits Expected annual salary range (U.S.): $138,670.70 – $187,613.30 USD.
