CNC Programmer - MillingAn individual that started in a machine shop operating CNC Machines, grew into a CNC Programmer, then acquired an Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Hand-on machining and CNC Programming experience using experience…. The selected candidate will develop and optimize CNC milling programs and machining processes for complex aerospace components while supporting production troubleshooting, tooling improvements, manufacturability reviews, and process optimization activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on CNC machining and programming experience, particularly within multi-axis milling environments, along with expertise in CAD/CAM systems, aerospace manufacturing, and precision machining of titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum components.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize CNC mill machining processes for new and existing aerospace componentsCreate detailed CNC programs and manufacturing instructionsOperation sequencesTooling requirementsGauging requirementsMachine setup requirementsGenerate machine-ready NC code and support prove-outs on the shop floorSupport machining operations for high-precision milled parts and sub-assembliesTroubleshoot: tooling issues, gauging issues, workholding challenges, inspection concernsAssist with machine setup and production supportCollaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve producibilityLead continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes and equipmentReview engineering drawings for manufacturabilityRecommend design and process improvementsSetup/run times, tooling hours, manufacturing costsSupport cost estimation activities for new business opportunitiesWork closely with: manufacturing engineers, CNC machinists, quality teams, production teamsMentor junior engineers and team membersSupport Lean Manufacturing and process optimization initiativesMust-Have QualificationsBachelor's Degree in technical field with 3+ years of experience ORAssociate Degree with 6+ years of experience ORHigh School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of related experienceStrong CNC Mill Machining experienceExperience with: multi-axis vertical machining centers, horizontal machining centersMinimum 3+ years of CNC programming experience using CAD/CAM softwareHands-on machine setup and machining experienceStrong understanding of precision machining processesAbility to support production troubleshooting and prove-outsPreferred QualificationsDegree in: mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, industrial engineeringAerospace manufacturing experienceExperience machining: stainless steel, titanium, aluminumSiemens NX CNC programming experienceExperience with machine automation integrationExperience inspecting machined componentsLean Manufacturing knowledgeLean Six Sigma CertificationCore SkillsCNC ProgrammingCNC MillingMulti-Axis MachiningCAD/CAMSiemens NXAerospace ManufacturingPrecision MachiningCNC Machine SetupNC ProgrammingManufacturing EngineeringTooling & GaugingTitanium MachiningStainless Steel MachiningAluminum MachiningLean ManufacturingProcess OptimizationShop Floor TroubleshootingHorizontal Machining CentersVertical Machining Centers
