Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Tooling Engineer with experience in tooling design, mold design, injection molding, and tooling maintenance. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing molds, jigs, and fixtures, performing Design for Manufacturability (DFM) evaluations, troubleshooting tooling issues, and supporting tooling qualification and production approval activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer moderately complex tooling solutions, including molds, jigs, and fixtures, in accordance with product specifications and manufacturing requirements.
• Participate in tooling design reviews and provide technical recommendations for design improvements.
• Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) evaluations to ensure tooling designs are suitable for efficient and cost-effective production.
• Validate molding and tooling designs and troubleshoot tooling-related issues.
• Perform tooling maintenance, identify root causes of tooling failures, and implement corrective actions.
• Recommend and implement cost-effective tooling modifications and design improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support tooling qualification, sampling, and final part approval.
• Prepare status reports and maintain accurate documentation related to tooling designs, modifications, validation activities, and tool room equipment.
• Coordinate with internal teams, customers, and vendors as needed to resolve tooling issues and ensure project progress.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Hands-on experience in tooling design, mold design, injection molding, or tool and die engineering.
• Experience working with molds, jigs, fixtures, and tooling maintenance.
• Knowledge of DFM principles, tooling validation, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to identify tooling issues and implement effective corrective solutions.
• Strong collaboration, communication, documentation, and status-reporting skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in medical device manufacturing, plastics/molding, automotive, or consumer electronics industries.
• Experience in high-volume injection molding environments or dedicated tool rooms.
• Familiarity with regulated manufacturing environments and quality requirements.
• Experience supporting tooling qualification, sampling, and final part approval.
• Experience implementing cost-effective tooling modifications and continuous improvements.
• Experience coordinating with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.

Pay Scale

Anticipated hourly pay range: $45/hr to $55/hr.
