Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Oncology RN for a Magnet-recognized teaching hospital requiring chemotherapy certification and CT/compact licensure.

Details

• Inpatient Oncology unit in a 186-bed Magnet-recognized teaching hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Charting via Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required
• Minimum 3 years of Oncology nursing experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I trauma or travel experience)
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• BLS and Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) required
• OCN certification preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, and administration of blood products, chemotherapy, and biotherapy agents
• Experience managing oncologic emergencies such as tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation, and sepsis
• Experience with symptom management for chemotherapy side effects including nausea, neuropathy, and mucositis
• 1 professional reference required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical or religious exemption only

Additional Information

• Provide direct inpatient care to oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy, biotherapy, and related treatments
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on psychosocial care, symptom management, and end-of-life care planning
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• Candidates must live more than 75 miles from the hospital to be considered
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities
