Quality Labor Management is seeking an experienced Commercial Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment on commercial construction projects while supporting site development, excavation, grading, trenching, material handling, and other earthmoving activities. This individual will work closely with project managers, superintendents, and field crews to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with project specifications and company standards.

Responsibilities / Skills

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to support commercial construction activities.
• Perform excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, site preparation, and material handling according to project specifications.
• Load, unload, and transport construction materials using the appropriate equipment.
• Work closely with project superintendents, foremen, laborers, and utility crews to complete daily production goals.
• Follow grade stakes, laser levels, and site plans to achieve accurate elevations and slopes.
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and promptly report mechanical issues or maintenance needs.
• Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
• Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and jobsite-specific safety procedures.
• Recognize and avoid underground utilities and overhead hazards before and during excavation.
• Assist with site cleanup and support other crew members when equipment is not in operation.
• Maintain productivity while operating equipment in congested or high-traffic construction environments.
• Safely work around pedestrians, vehicles, existing structures, and other heavy equipment.
• Communicate effectively with ground personnel using hand signals, radios, or other approved methods.
• Adapt to changing jobsite conditions and priorities while maintaining quality workmanship.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, situational awareness, and sound judgment in all aspects of equipment operation.
