Python AI Developer

Location: Remote – EST/CST Hours. Start date is ASAP for this 3 month contract position. Duration: 3 months (contract, with potential for long-term extension). Compensation Range: $50-65/hr

Job Description: The client is seeking a hands-on Python AI Developer to build, integrate, and operationalize AI-powered applications and workflow tools using existing AI models, APIs, and Azure services within a secure enterprise environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Write Python code to integrate and operationalize existing AI models.
• Build lightweight internal AI applications, workflow agents, and automation tools.
• Connect applications with Azure-based services and enterprise infrastructure.
• Integrate LLMs and other AI models through APIs.
• Embed AI capabilities into internal business tools and workflows.
• Develop solutions for document analysis, comparison, summarization, chat, and workflow automation.
• Troubleshoot AI model integrations, APIs, authentication, and application behavior.
• Work within established enterprise security, data privacy, and cloud architecture standards.
• Build and deliver solutions through fast, iterative development cycles.
• Translate business needs into clear technical requirements and working applications.
• Communicate technical concepts and solution constraints to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Must-Haves:
• 3-5 years of relevant software development or AI application development experience.
• Strong hands-on Python engineering experience.
• Strong experience working within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
• Experience building AI-powered applications using existing models rather than developing models from scratch.
• Experience deploying, integrating, or operationalizing AI models in production applications.
• Strong REST API and third-party API integration experience.
• Experience integrating platforms such as Azure AI, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, internal models, or similar AI services.
• Ability to independently build and troubleshoot applications in an enterprise environment.
• Experience working within established security, cloud, data access, and infrastructure constraints.
• Comfortable building automation and internal tools in rapid development cycles.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to learn unfamiliar technologies quickly.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to ask direct technical and business questions.
• Ability to work EST or CST-aligned hours.
• Nice-to-Haves:
• Experience building LLM-powered applications or AI workflow agents.
• Experience with document summarization, document comparison, RAG, chatbots, or conversational AI.
• Experience developing voice-enabled AI applications.
• Experience working in regulated enterprise environments.
• Healthcare, pharmaceutical, financial services, aerospace, or similar regulated-industry experience.
• Experience supporting global enterprise applications or workflows.
• Familiarity with secure AI environments where confidential information and data retention must be tightly controlled.
