Assistant Store Manager

Role Overview The Assistant Store Manager supports store operations by ensuring a clean, organized environment with a customer-first focus. Under the Store Manager's guidance, they assist with supervising staff, managing merchandise presentation, handling paperwork, and preparing deposits. They perform stocking and cashiering duties to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction, while safeguarding company assets. Key Responsibilities Deliver exceptional customer service, greet customers, operate cash registers. Assist with employee scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance. Manage merchandise flow, including receiving, stocking, and display setup. Maintain accurate inventory, control damages and markdowns, and ensure proper merchandise presentation. Support financial integrity through cashier accountability, cash handling, and deposit procedures. Assist in store management during the Store Manager’s absence. Qualifications & Skills Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to interpret safety and operational documents, perform math calculations, and operate cash registers. Knowledge of cash handling, security practices, and store policies. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; retail and supervisory experience advantageous. Working Conditions Frequent standing, bending, lifting up to 40-55 pounds, occasional climbing, and exposure to outside weather.
