Plant Mechanic

Plant MechanicsMOR PPM Inc. seeks Plant Mechanics in Georgetown, SC. The Plant Mechanics will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctlyMust work in full compliance with the approved safety regulationsManaging the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtimeIdentifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new partsDismantling older machines and replacing them with new onesOverseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical partsUsing machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical partsAssembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers.Performs any other duties assigned by supervisorPerforms all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly conditionQualifications & Skills:Preferred 8 years experience in supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems in an industrial plant.Forklift CertifiedSome welding knowledgePhysical Requirements/Job Site Requirements:Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through DocuSignMay be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 poundsMust posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified aboveMust be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areasMust have full range of motion consistent with ageMust be able to climb and maintain balance laddersMust be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noisesVisual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfacesSafety/Steel toe shoes are required.Equal Opportunity EmployerAs a leading provider of mechanical and electrical construction, facilities services, and energy infrastructure, we offer employees a competitive salary and benefits package and we are always looking for individuals with the talent and skills required to contribute to our continued growth and success.
