Mainframe System Programmer - SMP/E

Position Overview
We are seeking a Mainframe System Programmer to perform installation, upgrade, and maintenance of z/OS and related IBM, BMC, and ISV products. The role covers SMP/E-based product maintenance, security administration, system tuning, SYSPLEX operations, and disaster recovery support.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, upgrade, and maintain z/OS and related IBM, BMC, and ISV products
- Perform product installation and maintenance using SMP/E
- Support RACF and security-related product administration
- Perform system initialization and tuning
- Support SYSPLEX configuration and operations
- Manage JES, PARMLIB, USS, and Coupling Facility environments
- Perform hardware configuration definition (HCD) work and maintain IODFs
- Participate in disaster recovery exercises
Required Skills
- Strong SMP/E knowledge
- Experience with RACF and security-related products
- Solid understanding of z/OS system initialization and tuning
- Hands-on SYSPLEX knowledge and experience
- Working knowledge of JES, PARMLIB, USS, and Coupling Facility
- HCD experience, including working with IODFs
- Disaster recovery exercise experience
- Strong storage concepts knowledge; DFSMS expected
Language Support (Recommended)
- PL/I compiler, COBOL, Assembler, and REXX
- Java for z/OS, Node.js, and Python for z/OS
