Position: Safety & Health Specialist I/II/III
Location: El Campo, TX 77437 Employment Type: Direct Hire / Full-TimePosition Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Safety & Health Specialist to support safety and health programs, compliance, training, incident investigations, and risk management across operations. The role involves conducting field inspections and audits, performing hazard identification and risk assessments, leading incident investigations, supporting Process Safety Management (PSM), contractor safety, emergency preparedness, and promoting a strong safety culture.Key Requirements:
* Experience in safety, EHS, occupational safety, or a related field* Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards
* Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) and EHS Management Systems
* Experience with Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), hazard identification, and risk assessments
* Experience conducting field inspections, audits, safety observations, and incident investigations
* Knowledge of contractor safety, permit-to-work systems, energy isolation, and high-risk work activities
* Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous safety improvement
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coach and influence operations teams
* Facility/operations experience is preferred
* Bachelor’s degree is preferred
* CIH, ASP, CSP, CCPS, or similar safety certification is preferred
* Minimum 4 years of safety-related experience for Specialist III
* Willingness to travel up to 50%
* Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard PC applications

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2 years of progressively responsible experience in safety, EHS, or occupational safety for Specialist I.
- Minimum 4 years of safety-related experience for Specialist II.
- Minimum 6 years of safety-related experience for Specialist III.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations (29 CFR 1910, 1926) and applicable environmental and safety standards.
- Proven experience conducting field inspections, safety audits, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
- Experience performing incident investigations, including root cause analysis and development of effective corrective actions.
- Hands-on experience with Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), permit-to-work systems, energy isolation (LOTO), and high-risk work activities.
- Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements and EHS management systems.
- Strong communication, coaching, and influencing skills to engage cross-functional teams and drive safety performance.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
- Willingness to travel up to 50%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional certification (e.g., CSP, ASP, CIH, CCPS, or equivalent).
- Experience working in process manufacturing, oil & gas, chemical, or similar industrial facilities.
- Experience supporting contractor safety programs and managing third-party safety performance.
- Experience developing and delivering safety training programs.
- Proficiency with EHS software platforms and data management tools.
